The Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation recently unveiled a new feature of their Brunswick offices that will honor the memory of a former Sea Island employee who served on the foundation’s board.
The foundation christened the William Bernard McCloud Community Impact Wall on July 17, a prominent space at the offices where recipients of the William Bernard McCloud Community Impact Awards will be displayed.
McCloud had a positive impact on everyone he encountered and in his role at Sea Island was known for his smile and kind words, his family said during the unveiling.
McCloud served on the Community Impact Committee and nine years on the foundation’s board. His contributions helped shape the foundation’s mission and continue to inspire its work today, the foundation said in a statement.
The wall will serve as a permanent reminder of McCloud’s kindness, the statement said.
“This wall not only honors Bernard’s legacy but will also carry forward his spirit of giving — featuring the names of Community Impact Award recipients for years to come,” the statement said. “The William Bernard McCloud Community Impact Award wall stands as a lasting tribute to a man whose life embodied compassion, service and community.”
