Safe Harbor Children’s Center, a Brunswick-based nonprofit offering shelter and therapeutic services to children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected and those who are homeless or have run away from home, was the recent recipient of a $25,000 donation from the Rich’s Consumer Brands Charitable Fund, a new philanthropic arm of Rich Products Corporation’s Consumer Brands Division (CBD), on St. Simons Island.

The Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation awarded a community impact grant in the amount of $4,000 to The Gathering Place. The grant will support The Gathering Place’s annual summer college tour, which provides rising high school seniors the opportunity to tour a wide range of academic and technical colleges across Georgia. The program also assists these students with the preparation of college applications and provides ongoing support during their college years.

The individual will work with local nonprofits, schools and agencies to increase student participation in the program. STAR Foundation teaches computer and life skills toward selfsufficiency and successful transition to the workforce.
