Ellen Post: A Pillar of Our Community

Over the past 13 years, the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation (CCGF) has been fortunate to have a dynamic force supporting it in the form of Ellen Post. She has seen the Foundation grow from a sprout with big dreams into a change agent that is positively impacting the communities it serves and improving the lives of those who reside in our Coastal Georgia home.

Ellen has been the constant pillar at the Foundation. During her tenure, Ellen has been involved in every element of its operations including grants and gift management, marketing, financial support, Board and Committee management, event planning, and of course, her favorite aspect, overseeing the Community Impact Award Cycle. Working with the Community Impact Committee allowed Ellen to build relationships with the leaders of the incredible nonprofit organizations in our communities. She discovered the experiences that led individuals to the non-profit world and successfully connected their passions with those of fundholders, ensuring that good work will be done forever in Camden, Glynn, and McIntosh counties.

On Thursday, May 2, 2024, the CCGF held a celebratory send off for Ellen who has served under four of the five Foundation CEO’s, three of which spoke at her retirement celebration about their time working with Ellen: Lee Owen, Valerie Hepburn, and Keeva Kase. All three, along with nine other toastmasters, agreed Ellen’s dedication, expertise, and positive energy has solidified her as a true champion in the Foundation’s history.

The CCGF Board and staff wish Ellen the best in retirement from spending more time with family, to playing pickleball, to salmon fishing in Alaska; but most importantly, we hope she can sit back and enjoy the community she has unequivocally enriched over the years.
